An exceptional opportunity with an employer of choice, a global manufacturing organisation, looking for a further Demand Planner.

 

The role is being presented on a 12 month fixed term contract and as a result of a significant internal project that requires some additional resource.

 

The position is a critical role within the business and therefore the client will be initially completing first stage interviews over the telephone or web based, prior to proceeding to meet anyone face to face. 

 

This is a pivotal role at the heart of our clients ever growing export business, dealing directly with internal and external stakeholders, so not only knowledge of Demand Planning and Supply Chain processes, but excellent communication skills and an eye for detail are a must!

 

The main purpose of the role is to maintain the ongoing 12 month forecast for UK business, to support the entry, storage and generation or forecasts and to produce accurate KPI’s.

 

Personal Responsibilities will include:

Working closely with the Demand Planning Manager

Close liaison with commercial teams in UK

Close liaison with Supply Chain teams

Work with US counterparts to ensure best practice is shared

The position is based in Folkestone with some travel to distributors may be required.

 

General:

You will play a key role in the Sales & Operational Planning process in the UK, sharing best practices with the team, assisting the Demand Planning Manager.

 

You will develop an understanding of the UK business, to develop and improve sales forecasts, working proactively with both the commercial team and their distributors.

 

Develop with the commercial teams, launch forecasts for both new markets and new products in existing markets, to ensure initial commitments are neither excessive nor inadequate.

 

You work with a cross-functional team, make recommendations and ensure that inventory and customer service risks, as well as business growth opportunities, are highlighted via S & OP, so that appropriate business decisions are made and follow through post-launch, to ensure any deviations are flagged via S & OP.

 

To challenge sales forecast information provided by commercial teams where significant changes have occurred and understand their reason for changing.

 

Analysing sales history and create trend analysis, enabling forward projections based on statistics to be generated for comparison vs commercial team forecasts.

 

Ensure correct and timely entry of forecasts onto the Manugistics system.

 

Alert Supply Chain on anticipated demand changes or potential opportunities likely to be of an exceptional nature.

 

Areas of responsibility include but not limited to:

To be the owner of the demand plans for the allocated business area.

Maintain the Manugistics system with updates sales forecasts and prepare monthly forecast accuracy KPI’s.

To continuously improve forecast accuracy using historical data and other insights gained through regular communication with the commercial teams and their distributors.

Work with commercial teams to continuously improve current demand planning process and information exchanges with distributors, liaising with other functions, ie. customer service, supply planning and IT) as required to ensure processes are ready to accommodate the planned business growth.

Run SAP unconsumed forecast report and agree realignments or cancellations with commercial teams to ensure proactive and correct prioritisation of requirements for optimal customer service and inventory levels.

Create presentation material content for the S & OP Meetings.

Proactively supply information to support and encourage continuous forecast improvement.

Key player in the S & OP process and will work with the whole Supply Chain planning team to lead improvements to the process in Europe.
