As an experienced Maintenance Supervisor you will be responsible for ensuring the safe working conditions and practices of all staff in the Engineering facility. The role involves driving improved production Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE) through effective breakdown cover and preventative maintenance. The Maintenance Supervisor will allocate maintenance resources, liaise with department heads to manage priorities, and establish a base standard for routine maintenance activities. This hands-on role requires managing shift maintenance teams, addressing daily breakdowns, planned maintenance, and project work. The Supervisor will gather knowledge and data from the previous 24 hours to optimise OEE recovery during daily production meetings.
Skills and Competencies:
• Proficiency as a multi-skilled technician.
• Experience with SAP.
• Familiarity with automated FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) environments.
• People management experience is essential.
• Knowledge of Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) regulations.
• Working knowledge of machinery terminology and diagrams.
• Hands-on and problem-solving approach.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain flexible and calm under pressure and tight deadlines.
• Effective communication with staff at all levels, both internally and externally.
• Future-oriented and systematic approach to maintenance.
• Working knowledge of Lean principles and problem-solving skills.
