A new instruction for a Supply Chain Planning Manager with a key manufacturing client in the area.

THE ROLE:

This role will focus on the supply planning management of 2 major specific brands, sourced from the far east.

EDUCATION, SKILLS & PRIOR WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Higher level education

Planning experience in FMCG

Experience of working across all levels of organisations with experience of working in multicultural environment, an advantage

Highly numerate

Excellent communication skills, and with an understanding of different cultures (Mainly SE Asia) would be an advantage.

Excellent organisation and prioritisation skills

Computer literate – spreadsheets, databases, presentations

SAP experience beneficial.

Demonstrable evidence of cross-functional teamwork

Certified in project management will be an advantage

Certified in Lean / Six Sigma will be an advantage

Languages - Fluency in European language will be an advantage although not essential.

 

REGULAR DUTIES:

The Supply Chain Planning Manager is responsible for the demand planning, inventory planning and replenishment for the two Global Markets Group (Export)) distribution centres.

Responsible for the management, training and development of one direct report.

Monitoring Supply Chain performance metrics (KPI’s) with the focus being on:

  • Customer Service levels for both domestic and GMG (Export) markets
  • Working Capital projection and adherence to Financial Plans and major PPR’s for plants.
  • Forecast accuracy results at the appropriate lag and formulation of safety stocks based on this where appropriate.
  • Reviewing the leading indicators to help correct issues before they happen.
  • Setting and reviewing safety stock levels.
  • Slow Moving and Obsolete stock reduction.
  • Product lifecycle management.

Working alongside sales to advise on stock availability and lead times.

Working with 3PL and Contract manufacturers to analyse short, medium, and long term capacity plans, and communicate these through the S&OP cycle.

Effectively lead the team through the demonstration of people responsibilities (Our Purpose, Our People, Our Work)

Leading and reinforcing the S&OP process; communicating benefits and achievements to the stakeholders, producing clear action plans 

Attending project meetings to ensure the smooth implementation of any RCF / NPD / EPD projects.

Build and maintain relationships with the Suppliers and 3PL’s.

Being part of the European Planning Leadership team and contributing to the continuous development of the team's procedures and tools.

Review and release of purchase orders at Stage 2 approval in SAP.

Create, Maintain & review Standard Operating Procedures for planning at an appropriate standard way and at European level. 

Keeping up to date with international shipping constraints and understanding the best method to maintain service while considering costs.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:   

Supply planning for your brands, primarily using SAP and other tools, to ensure optimum customer service and inventory levels of your brands in UK, France & Germany 

Presentations to monthly Supply meeting 

Presentations for monthly S&OP meetings

Ensure dynamic plans are in place to allow for all your brands to achieve the working capital targets. 

Weekly and monthly analysis and reports of inventory data to local and US management 

KPI reporting 

Enforcement of the S&OP process 

Proactively working on process improvements in collaboration with colleagues 

Standing in for European Supply Chain Manager when required.

 

SPECIAL RELATIONSHIPS:

Working as part of the supply chain planning team, working closely with other Supply Chain Planning Managers, Production Planning Managers, Supply Planners, and Demand Planning team.

Close liaison also with:

Purchasing and New Product Introduction managers, colleagues in manufacturing operations and logistics., domestic and export sales teams in both UK, France & Germany.

Interaction with international colleagues to exchange information and knowledge on supply chain matters.
