An exciting new permanent position for an Assistant Brand Manager with a global client specialising in the manufacture of an impressive portfolio of instantly recognisable personal care products, available within most major multiples and online channels (Amazon).
In order to meet the requirements for the Assistant Brand Manager position, we are looking for someone special, who can grow with both the role and the brands, as they continue to develop.
The emphasis with this position is someone with FMCG experience, ideally with haircare background, who can utilise their marketing skills to the benefit of this organisation and their products.
Ultimately, someone with a natural initiative and a creative thinker with a proactive attitude in order to work within such a fast paced environment.
The Must Haves:
Applicants will require marketing experience with FMCG, ideally haircare or consumer package goods brands.
E-commerce and/or online experience
Excellent analytical skills – financial and market research/data
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills
Very organised with thorough understanding of the usual administrative processes and budget management
Personal Computer skills to include mastery of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
The Role:
Working on 3 exciting brands, you will help manage all marketing aspects of their beauty care portfolio.
This includes a US number 1 product, just launched in the UK so an exciting year ahead to make this mighty brand a success in the UK as well!
In addition, 2 haircare brands: one a premium product with much untapped potential to unleash, with the other offering a great opportunity to grow the brand mainly through online (Amazon, website)
Your deep understanding of key consumer insights, backed up with rigorous category analysis, will allow you to support the development of strategic, insight led, brand plans. You will brilliantly execute the plans through the development of compelling communications and promotions that prompt the required consumer and customer response to hit targets.
An all-round marketer in the making, you will be able to experience the full marketing mix. In particular, you will have a commercial acumen, as well as strength in briefing and developing all types of communications including social and digital media. Online is key for these brands as it represents the majority of their sales. Having ecommerce as well a project management experiences is a plus for this role.
Role Responsibilities:
Brand Strategy:
Input to the development of strategic plans:
Assist in market trend analysis giving guidance for tomorrow’s agenda for your brands
Help gather market and consumer information to better understand consumer needs and habits within your brand’s category, through competitor monitoring and research projects
Input to the setting of individual strategic priorities for brand growth
Assist in the development of annual brand plans that will deliver the strategies and objectives with a robust programme of activities.
Help develop the review of the brand plans on a quarterly basis to the brand team ensure targets are met
Brand Operations:
Keeping the brands on track:
Help monitor brand performance using market tracking research and financial reporting
Tight budget management ensuring timely recommendations and accurate allocation, monitoring and control. Work closely with Finance to keep budget trackers up to date.
New Product Development:
Support SBM in executing NPD launches with excellence:
Support SBM in bringing NPD or EPD to market. Help prepare and present business cases for your projects at Stage Gate meetings
Help the SBM organise and manage consumer research and market testing of both new products and communications as required
Help SBM develop impactful new packaging with design agencies and technical for your new product projects
Brand Communication & In Market Activation
Driving demand and engaging consumers at point of sale:
Work alongside the SBM/GMM and agencies to create communications ideas that drive the desired brand objectives founded on key consumer insights. Help in the coordination of agency projects to ensure on time delivery
Work closely with Sales and Customer Marketing and ensure marketing activity information is shared to help better integration of promotions to maximise ROI
Provide market data and brand data to sales team to support customer presentations
Help in the analysis of marketing activity, measure success and highlight key learnings
International Liaison:
Support the success of our brands in other markets by working closely with international team and markets. Be a key point of contact for information on your brand(s) successes, key learning, and any relevant marketing activities.
Teamwork:
Work with your manager to set own individual development plan, regularly review own performance and progress with them
Contribute to team update meetings in terms of brand performance results and any key learning
Be instrumental in creating an exciting team spirit and a positive, creative, energetic atmosphere that rubs off on the rest of the organisation.
Package Details:
Attractive basic salary, depending on experience

Approximately 50% working from home and 50% from the office
Mon to Thur: 9am to 5pm. Fri: 9am to 4.30pm
