As their current transport manager plans to retire in the first quarter of 2024, we are on the lookout for a dynamic and skilled individual to seamlessly step into this crucial role.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years in a varied transport management role.
  • Transport Manager CPC.
  • Proven ability to manage a dynamic team, including office staff and drivers.
  • Track record of operational improvements.
  • Proficient in Microsoft packages and IT.
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the smooth running of the Transport function and related activities.
  • Manage deliveries and collections, meeting weekly targets of 500-600 drops during busy periods.
  • Oversee a team of 4 in the office and a full-time staff of customer-facing drivers.
  • Maintain compliance with legal obligations and voluntary schemes, such as FORS.
  • Develop and manage the FORS scheme, including policies and risk assessments.

Key Tasks:

  • Continuous personal development to meet external obligations.
  • Develop and manage drivers to ensure safety and professionalism.
  • Ensure the roadworthiness of the delivery fleet and other company vehicles.
  • Collaborate with other managers to meet business needs.
  • Uphold company ISO 9001 procedures and quality standards.

Requirements:

  • Full driving license and own vehicle.
  • Office-based role at head office in a rural location
