Transport Planner / HGV Planner – Maternity Cover

Monday–Friday | 8:00am–5:30pm (1-hour break)
£35,000 DOE (flexible for the right candidate)

We are looking for an experienced Transport Planner / HGV Planner to join our clients team on a maternity cover basis. You’ll support the Transport Manager and play a key role in the day-to-day planning and operation of the transport department.

Key Duties

• Plan and manage daily HGV deliveries and collections
• Amend transport plans to meet changing operational demands
• Liaise with drivers and customers regarding loads and schedules
• Ensure deliveries meet agreed promise dates
• Produce PODs and transport paperwork
• Ensure compliance with transport legislation and FORS requirements
• Monitor vehicle servicing, defects, and rectification
• Support general transport administration and reporting

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Transport Planner or HGV Planner
• Strong knowledge of transport operations and compliance
• Excellent organisational and communication skills
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Confident IT user (transport planning systems experience preferred)
