An exceptional opportunity with a global manufacturing organisation in the area to join their professional Purchasing Team where there is some flexibility in terms of the ideal candidate with attractive hybrid working available.

Position Highlights:
The role reports to the Purchasing Manager and as a member of the purchasing team of 11, you will source negotiate and contract for specified spend categories on behalf of user departments and develop effective business partnerships with suppliers and internal customers.

The Ideal Candidate:
Applications are invited from either:
Buyer: currently with no senior experience, but the client would look to progress to senior level over time
Senior Buyer: ideal for someone already working in a senior purchasing capacity
Therefore, the salary would depend on your level of experience

Experience & Education:
CIPS qualification required or other Professional Qualification
Significant procurement experience  with a track record of delivering improvement
Strong understanding of end to end Supply Chain and SRM process
A good technical understanding of procurement within Pharma, Food Supplements and/or Cosmetics industries
Good knowledge of Contract manufacturing
Ideally a proficient user of SAP or similar ERP system plus general competency in MS Office
Must have excellent English (both written and spoken) with any other language skills beneficial although not considered essential.

Skills and Attributes:
Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills 
Strong analytical and problem resolution skills
Proven ability to deliver YOY cost reductions
A skilled negotiator covering cost, relationship and contracts
Ability to influence at all levels within an organisation
Exposure to commodity management and project sourcing 
Good project management skills, able to work on multiple complex projects
Focus on continuous improvement and digitally savvy
Empathetic with a customer service orientation
The role will require the ability to travel (ie. 10 – 15%)

Responsibilities will include but not limited to:
Supplier RFQ for projects NPD and Commercialisation
Contribute to project meetings representing procurement department
COG confirmation with prices at a range of MOQ’s/EOQ’s
Support and manage the commercial relationship between the Project Management Office team
and external suppliers on specific projects  so customer needs are met whilst maintaining effective 
business relationships with suppliers & customers
Supply Gap Analysis:
CDA GAP analysis and implementation
Supplier agreement/Contract analysis and execution
COPQ (Cost of Poor Quality) compliance management
Participate in supplier performance management reviews
Supplier Price Management - negotiating prices and terms, SAP maintenance
Manage Supplier relationships and KPI’s for portfolio charge
Assist with annual budget cost setting
Cover for Procurement Manager as required (in times of absence)
Participate and take ownership of G2G program (cost down program)
